We are happy to share the outcome of our last training session, which took place on Tuesday, February 18th at the Department of Chemistry, University of Patras. The session, which was organised by STRATAGEM, lasted two hours and welcomed more than 100 students, along with researchers and experts in Chemistry and Renewable Energy. It was a great opportunity to connect and share NEFERTITI project’s advancements in photocatalytic CO₂-to-fuel conversion.
The training session provided a comprehensive overview of the new photocatalytic system in which NEFERTITI is engaged to enable CO2 and H2O to be converted into solar fuels such as ethanol and longer-chain alcohols. More specifically, participants had the opportunity to learn about:
- The theory behind photocatalysis and how it mimics natural photosynthesis.
- The NEFERTITI dual-reactor system for continuous and efficient fuel production.
- The role of CO₂-to-fuel technologies in climate neutrality and sustainable energy goals.
During this session the audience was able to indulge in interactive debate, Q&A, and real-life case studies.
Some of the key subjects of discussion included:
- The importance of novel catalysts and nanomaterials on photocatalytic reaction efficiency.
- The economic and environmental advantage of converting CO₂ into clean fuels.
- Opportunities for students and researchers to contribute to cutting-edge research in artificial photosynthesis and clean energy technologies.
NEFERTITI project promises that will continue to organize training programs, workshops, and webinars to make sure that young scientists and professionals are well equipped to spearhead the way to carbon-neutral fuels.
Special thanks to all the consortium partners for the knowledge shared with STRATAGEM in order to achieve this training session.
Stay tuned for upcoming training sessions and research.
